Self-Portrait: The Emptiness...Work in Progress

This is my self-portrait i'm working on at the moment...Titled "The Emptiness". Its a large painting so that's why it's taking so long, i'm probably only about half way through at the moment. I'm not going to say anything yet about the meaning of it but i would love to hear your comments...remember it's very far from finished, airbrushing particularly on canvass requires loads of layering! xx

Breathtaking.

But the right breast? Have you deliberately portrayed it like that? I note the attention to detail you have put in portraying your skin. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But it I'm getting a dislike of your overall body and the attention is being brought to your face which shows a sadness. But the empty is clearly very 'all over' Im not good at this stuff! Just offering my opinion to let you know I studied it. Awesome artwork, but very striking and all the more poignant because it's 'self' portrait.

lol i'm not sure what you mean by the right breast, can you elaborate? There isn't anything particularly symbolic about the breast though. Thank you for taking the time to comment on my work, means a lot. I wish more people did, it's interesting to see how they portray it. Once the painting is completely finished i'll reveal the story behind it... Dun Dun Duuuuuun xxx
