Wassup you beautiful people?
Just wanted to mention that Silverbird has made reached it's 2nd year in business this month and I am absolutely over the moon! For those of you who do not know my background here's a brief rundown... As a mature student i went off to Cambridge to study marine biology and animal behaviour at Anglia Ruskin University but during my final year of studies i really started to miss art. I used to paint when i was a kid but the last thing i painted was when i was 15 years old! Towards my final year at uni, i started looking into airbrushing and thought it would be a cool way to earn a living as i really was the type of person that needed to work for herself. About a year after having my beautiful baby girl in 2010, i started to play around for a few hours a week with an airbrush and loved it. At the time i was teaching but being a bit of a rebel I didn't really agree with the system that was in place for the students and although i absolutely loved teaching my students, my beliefs were greatly compromised and i started to really not enjoy certain aspects of the job.... this was actually a positive thing because i started to look more and more into pushing forward a career in airbrush art. Eventually in March 2012, i decided to take the plunge, against a lot of advise from family and some friends, i quit my job and set up Silverbird airbrushing! It has been a massive learning curve and as a single mother has been hard balancing everything but i have done it and this year looks like it's going to a great one! So many projects lined up at the moment and i'm loving every minute of it. So i just wanted to say a great big THANK YOU to all those who have supported me, family, friends, my lovely, lovely customers, a big thanks to Nik at 100% biker magazine and most importantly my daughter who gives me the drive to keep going when sometimes the road gets tough. Big love and hopefully Silverbird will be around for many more years to come.
